Flirty Goes To Hollywood
9 August 2019
Here at Flirty Dancing HQ we are packing our bags because *fanfare* - FLIRTY'S GOING TO HOLLYWOOD
2019 brings us #CatchFlightsANDFeelings when we cross the pond to Los Angeles to make a brand new series for U.S Network, FOX. As always, we want bring back some old school romance; this time matching a series of American singletons and giving them the ultimate first date.
Here's the official info:
FOX has picked up the U.S. adaptation of the hit U.K. series Flirty Dancing, in which two complete strangers are taught one half of a dance routine, then meet for the first time in a magical location, and before they even speak, they dance. The series is from Second Star and Objective Media Group, an All3Media America company.
"Flirty Dancing is a dating format with a ‘La La Land’ twist. In a world where most people find love by clicking through apps, this is a show that offers a more romantic approach to dating - inviting our participants to sweep each other off their feet in amazing performances, rather than swiping left or right,” said Deborah Sargeant, CCO, Second Star. “We're delighted to be partnering with FOX on this ambitious format. We'll be shooting each dance in a stunning real world location to really give each of our hopeful singles their Hollywood musical movie moment.”
FOX has added a twist to the original format, with one of the participants getting to dance with two partners, before choosing which one they have the strongest connection with. Will it be love at first dance?
The FOX version of Flirty Dancing will be produced by Second Star, which produces the original, and All3Media America. Second Star, run by Deborah Sargeant, is part of Objective Media Group. Sargeant and Objective Media Group America’s Jilly Pearce will serve as executive producers.
